WorldSkills French National Competition - Medals Design
FR - Les Olympiades des Métiers ont un emblème bien connu dans ce milieu, représentant une main pouvant également être interprété comme une flamme, symbole fort des Jeux Olympiques. Partant de ce constat, nous avons travaillé un design de médaille autour de cette forme très symbolique. Nous avons donc designé les médailles de la 44e Edition autour d'un focus sur ce logo, de cette main, caractérisant le travail manuel que met en avant cette compétition internationale et de ce proverbe « avoir des mains en or ».
EN - The medal of a competition is very important, its weight is well, this metal object significated most of things for the competitors who win it, it's a symbol of work, of training. A symbol of a great experience during 3 intense days. The logotype of the WorldSkills Competition was for me the way to go for the design, this logo represent a hand but could be interpret as the Olympic flame. From the citation "to have gold hands" I felt that create the medal around the design of the logo would be perfect and very different from any medals.
What is WorldSkills France?
FR - WorldSkills France fait partis d'une compétition internationales des métiers regroupant plus de 60 pays. Cette association est en charge de l'organisation des Olympiades des Métiers niveau national et de la préparation des Equipes de France des métiers pour la WorldSkills Competition. Les Olympiades des Métiers est une véritable vitrine de métiers et créent la croisée des chemins du monde de la formation, des entreprises et des jeunes. C’est un temps de grande émotion où ces jeunes se donnent à fond pour prouver leur talent et l’excellence de leur savoir-faire dans le métier qu’ils ont choisi ou qu’ils exercent.
EN - WorldSkills France is the french part of the WorldSkills foundation that is an international competition which involved professional education institutions from dozens of countries with the aim of promoting, through the exchange of experiences, technical and technological improvement of the participating countries as well as the development of teaching methods compatible with the demands of an increasingly complex and globalized market. Held every two years, the WorldSkills Competition is the biggest competition in the world of professional education. Competitors from over 60 countries mimic challenges of professions that must be met within international quality standards.
